Hide a donation form field

Each donation form data element has an option to show or hide the element's fields on the form. To hide the fields of a data element, clear the Yes, this field is visible checkbox.

  1. Create a Donation Campaign.

  2. Create a donation form within the Campaign.

  3. Access the Design Donor Screens page and select Edit for the donation form.

  4. In the right pane of the Form Designer, select the data element to hide and then select Save Order and Edit Selected.

  5. In the Edit Data Element pane:

    1. For Is this field visible on the Donation form?, remove the checkmark. Note that this action also removes the editing area for the Field Label, since the label is no longer necessary.

    2. To hide this field on the Transaction Summary, clear the checkbox for the Is this field visible on the Transaction Summary? option.

      Note: Some data element fields cannot be hidden on the Transaction Summary.

      Warning: Do not require any field that you plan to hide and populate by URL even if you are certain that you will be able to obtain the value through the URL. If a value is not provided for a hidden field that is required (for example, if the donor’s session times out), donors will not be able to complete their donation.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Preview the form to ensure that the field is not visible, then close the preview.

  8. Finish configuring your form and test it.
