Edit Document and Version Information
Edit document and version information of a Document Library file to revise its Title, Description, Department, and Security Category. You can't change the Document Type, which is associated with the file extension.
You can also replace the file, but you might want to create another version to keep track of your changes. See Uploading a Revised Version of a Document Library File.
To edit information for a Document Library file

On the Document List page, in the Search for an existing document section, click Name for the document to revise.

In the Edit Document Information section, for:

Document Title, type your changes in the field to revise the name shown in the Document List.

Description, type your changes in the field to revise or add to the information.

Keywords, type your changes in the field to add more, fix existing, or delete search keywords.

Department, type your changes in the field to add, fix, or delete the department.

Security Category, click the drop-down menu and select the appropriate group.

Click Save.

To edit information in a particular version of the document:

Click Name in the Version list for the document section.

In the Edit Document Version section for Version Name, type your changes in the field.

In the Edit Document Version section for Description, type your changes in the field.

To replace the file with a different file, click Browse to Find and Open the replacement file on your computer or a shared network resource.

Click Save.

Click Cancel to return to the main Document List.
