Company and Organization Association
When you create a new Local Company or Cross-Event Company, an organization record is automatically created in the Organizations section of Constituent360 with the company's name.
Company hierarchies with the same event type can only exist in the following format.
Best Practices and Tips
-
An invalid company state is dependent on the event type associated with the company. When companies of the same event type are associated with each other, the hierarchy pictured above is forced to prevent an invalid state.
A National Company can be the parent to another National Company as long as they're associated with different event types. If two National Companies are associated with the same event type, the user will receive an error and need to make the remaining company a Regional Company or Local Company.
-
While you can associate an organization with multiple events, we do not recommend associating an organization with the same event multiple times.
-
If you'd like to reuse an archived Cross-Event company that has already been associated with an organization, you will need to restore the Cross-Event company. We do not recommend creating a new company.
-
You can control how companies display in drop-down lists. By default, all Local, Regional, and National companies will display alphabetically with no grouping by type or hierarchy. To group companies by type or hierarchy in the drop-down list, set the Classification Company Select List option in the Define Advanced Event Options page.
