Assistants in Raiser's Edge NXT

Assistants in Raiser’s Edge NXT bring together related capabilities — such as analytics, recommendations, and guided next steps — to support common fundraising tasks. They are not features you find in the user interface. Instead, they are groupings of related functionality that work together to help you move from insight to action.

Assistants are embedded into the areas of Raiser’s Edge NXT where you already work. They surface relevant insights based on your data and context, then help you decide what to do next.

How Assistants work

Assistants support your judgment, but do not replace it or take action. They surface insight from your organization's data to offer guidance with recommendations and suggested actions. It is your choice whether to review, refine, accept, or ignore suggestions.

Assistants are groupings of functionality. They are not standalone features. You won’t see them listed as menu items or separate pages. Instead, they appear in existing workflows, such as:

  • Your homepage

  • Opportunity and prospect workflows

  • AI‑assisted experiences powered by Chat for Blackbaud AI

Where and when the functionality appears can vary based on your role, your data, and your organization’s subscription. Some Assistants are available only with Premium features. If you don’t see an Assistant mentioned in documentation or announcements, your organization may not be entitled to that capability yet. See How to tell if my organization has Premium Raiser’s Edge NXT features.

Types of Assistants

Different Assistants focus on different fundraising goals:

Strategy Assistant - Helps you understand fundraising performance by comparing key metrics to similar organizations. The features guide you toward areas of importance to focus on next.

Cultivation Assistant - Helps streamline major gift work by grouping functionality that supports creating opportunities and planning cultivation actions using predictive insights and AI‑generated recommendations.

Additional Assistants may be introduced as new capabilities become available.
