Campaigns

Campaigns represent your organization’s broader fundraising efforts — for example, operating expenses, a new building, or an endowment. Some campaigns run for a defined timeframe, such as a capital campaign for a new facility, while others continue indefinitely to support ongoing needs.

To support a campaign, you use appeals and funds to help generate gifts and direct how money flows to the right initiatives.

For details about a campaign, select its description to open its record.

Tip: To help motivate fundraisers, your organization may set goal amounts for specific campaigns. Under Portfolio, Work Center, you can see how much your personal fundraising efforts have contributed toward active campaigns under Goals.

View Which Campaigns a Gift Supports

When you fundraise, you may request that a gift apply to a specific campaign, or a donor may request how the organization uses their gift. To confirm the intended use, open the gift and view the campaigns under Fundraising details.

If the gift supports multiple campaigns, a breakdown appears with the amount and percentage that apply to each.

With Prospect Research Management, you can use opportunities to help cultivate relationships and secure major gifts in upport of specific initiatives. When you create an opportunity, you can specify the campaign you intend to use any gifts that result from the effort. To determine the intended use of gifts acquired through an opportunity, you can view which default campaign they apply to under Details on its record.

To adjust the default fund for the opportunity's gifts, select Edit. For more information, see Opportunity records.
