Work Center Overview

For easy access to all the relationships and activity assigned to you as a fundraiser, select Portfolio, Work Center. From your work center, you can manage your assigned constituents and related activity from one central location. To check the progress of your fundraising efforts — at a glance — and plan how to focus your energy, select Overview. Under Overview, you can quickly gauge your performance across multiple areas.

To help focus on relationships that need your attention, Raiser's Edge NXT automatically listens to your constituent records and tags them based on special situations such as upcoming birthdays or a lack of interactions. Under Needs attention, you can view and scroll through up to 25 active constituents in your portfolio you should pay extra attention to — in priority order, with more urgent situations first — as well as recommended next steps.   • To create a task or interaction in response to a tag and it recommendation, select Add action. For information about how to add an action, see Actions.

  • To remove a constituent until they receive additional tags that may need your attention, select Dismiss.

  • For a list of everyone in your portfolio with tags (including those you dismissed), select View all constituents with tags.

Under Actions, you can view details about your assigned tasks and interactions based on their completion status.

  • Past due — How many are past their due date and not marked as complete. For a list of your past due actions, select this total.

  • Upcoming — How many are due the current week but not yet marked as complete. For a list of your upcoming actions, select this total.

  • Completed — How many were marked as complete during the current week. To view which actions you completed during the week, select this total.

To view and manage your assigned interactions and tasks and any added to your assigned constituents, select the Actions list. For information, see Actions.

Under Gifts, you can view key statistics about the gifts you receive credit for and those received from donors you manage as a fundraiser.

  • Past due pledges — How many outstanding pledge commitments have installments past their due date. For a list of your overdue pledges, select this total.

  • Total gifts in current fiscal year — How many gifts were received during the current fiscal year. For a list of the gifts you raised during the current fiscal year, select this total.

  • Total gifts from last seven days — How many gifts were received during the last week. To view which gifts you recently received, select this total.

To view and manage gifts you receive credit for or from your assigned constituents, select the Gifts list. For information, see Gifts.

To help motivate fundraisers and track the effectiveness of their efforts, your organization may set goal amounts to raise toward specific campaigns or funds or through specific appeals. Under Goals, you can view how much you raised toward up to five personal goal amounts for active campaigns, funds, and appeals. To focus on cash-in-hand giving, this total includes:

  • One-time gifts

  • Gifts of stock/property

  • Payments toward pledges, recurring gifts, planned gifts, and matching gifts

Tip: To manage a fundraiser's goals for campaigns, funds, and appeals, select View, Solicitor Details from the menu bar of their record in the database view and then adjust their goals on the Goals tab of the Solicitor Information screen.

Under Portfolio, you can view key statistics for your assigned constituent relationships.

  • Assigned — How many relationships you're assigned to manage as a fundraiser. To view your assigned relationships, select this total or the Portfolio list.

  • At-risk — How many of your assigned donors previously gave a gift or received a soft credit but not in the past 12 months, similar to a Last Year But Unfortunately Not This (LYBUNT) or Some Year But Unfortunately Not This (SYBUNT) annual report. For a list of your at-risk donors, select this total. For information, see Donor Attrition.

  • Newly assigned — How many relationships were assigned to you in the past seven days. For a list of your new relationships, select this total. We recommend you review these constituent records and recent activity to determine a good time to meet.

To view and manage your assigned relationships, select the Portfolio list. For information, see Constituents.

With Prospect Research Management, you can use opportunities to cultivate constituent relationships and major giving. Under Opportunities, you can view pertinent total estimates for active opportunities assigned to you or for your assigned constituents.

  • Asked — How much was requested when you made the opportunities' solicitations.

  • Funded — How much you received in response to the opportunities.

  • Expected — How much you realistically intended to receive as a result of the opportunities.

To help gauge your progress, you can quickly compare how many efforts are at each stage of your solicitation process, such as Initial contact, Pending, or Approved. For a list of the opportunities at a specific stage, select the status or its total. For information about these statuses, see Opportunity Status.

Tip: To view and manage all your assigned opportunities and those added for your assigned constituents, select the Opportunities list in Work center. For information, see Opportunities.

Tip: Admins! To set up the order of opportunity statuses to match your solicitation process, sort the Proposal Status table in Tables.

From Portfolio, Work center, you can view and manage fundraiser assignments and details as necessary.

If you can access others' work centers as a fundraising manager or other supervisor, select Change fundraiser to choose whose portfolio and activity to view. To view everyone's portfolios, choose All fundraisers.

Note: Admins! In Security, you can control who can view other fundraisers' work centers. For more information, see Fundraising Work Center Rights.

To use a tab with a spreadsheet application — such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets — or mailing house, you can download its information as a comma-separated values (CSV) file. When you export a tab:

  • Columns with multiple types of data — such as Constituent summary or Latest gift under Portfolio — appear as multiple items in the CSV file, one for each value.

  • For a column with multiple values of the same type of data, such as Constituent code for an engaged constituent or Campaign for a split gift, its values appear grouped together — separated by semicolons — as a single item in the CSV file.

Tip: A CSV file is simply a snapshot of a single moment in time. For the current and most accurate information, refer to your work center directly in Raiser's Edge NXT on your desktop or mobile device.

To download a tab of 500,000 records or less as a CSV file, select Export and then — when the export completes — download the file.

By default, the name of the CSV file includes the list's name — or type, if unsaved — and the date of the export. To update the file name, rename it after it downloads.

Note: Admins! To help protect and control your constituents' personal data, we recommend you enable only appropriate people to export from Raiser's Edge NXT. In Security, you can who can export from Portfolio, Work center. For more information, see Fundraising Work Center Rights.
