Portal Access
To access the portal, constituents log in with a Blackbaud ID. This account links the users portal profile to their constituent record in Raiser's Edge NXT.
Tip: As an admin, you can view the portal using it's URL from Settings, Tools, Portal settings.
You can manage a user's access to the portal from their constituent record. Under Portal, you can:
-
Invitation status — The constituent's current portal invitation status: Not invited, Pending, Accepted, or Expired.
-
Blackbaud ID account — The email address linked to the constituent's Blackbaud ID.
Tip: If this email address is the wrong one, select Unlink from record and send a new invitation to the correct email address.
-
Last portal login — Date of constituent's most recent portal access.

To ensure Blackbaud IDs link to the correct constituent records, email a portal invitation from the constituent record, select Invite to portal under Portal. When they select the link in the message to accept the invitation, the portal sign-in page opens, and they can create a Blackbaud ID account.
Note: The invitation is sent to the constituent's primary email address.

To block a constituent from using the portal, from their constituent record, select Block user access under Portal. If a blocked user attempts to log into the portal, they receive an Access Restricted message and an error appears in the user activity log. To restore access, select Unblock user .
Note: If you block a constituent who's not a user yet, they're excluded from portal invitation lists.
