Portal Features

When you enable Giving in portal, select a Standard Donation Form for users to give from. The form you choose determines the gift types, amounts, and fields available on the Make a gift page.

Donors can make donations in the portal using their saved payment method if you enable Credit payment methods or Bank payment methods.

When you enable Giving history, donors can view their lifetime giving history including offline gifts made directly to your organization. To learn how gift types are labeled in the portal, see Portal Giving History.

When you enable Profile updates, constituents can use the portal to update their personal and contact information and delete their portal accounts. With the profile update log, an admin can review and approve submitted profile changes.

Note: When a constituent deletes their portal record, they unlink their Blackbaud ID from their constituent record. This removes their access to the portal and all saved payment methods. However, they must still contact your organization to remove their constituent record from your database. If they don’t end payments before they remove their access, their recurring gifts remain active.

When you enable Recurring gifts, donors can view and manage their recurring gifts entered through:

• Standard Donation Forms

• Constituent records, Gifts, or Home in the web view.

• Gift records in the database view that have been converted to automated recurring gifts in the web view. For more information, see Automate Manual Recurring Gifts.

To enable donors to make recurring gifts in the portal, choose a Standard Donation Form with recurring gifts available when you enable Giving in portal.

When you enable Credit payment methods, donors can save and update their credit and debit card information for future gifts. They can opt to apply this payment method to active recurring gifts.

Note: Updating credit card information only updates active credit card gifts.

When you enable Bank payment methods, donors can save and update their bank account information for future gifts. They can opt to apply this payment method to active recurring gifts.

Note: Updating bank account information only updates active bank account gifts.
