Manage opportunities
Manage opportunities and related activities to improve the effectiveness of your fundraising efforts.
You can manage opportunities from the opportunity's record, constituent or gift records, and lists. Tasks include:
Tip: In Work Center, you can only view and manage opportunities assigned to you or for constituents you work with as a fundraiser. For more information, see Work Center.
Manage a list of opportunities
Manage lists of opportunities to support moves management or analyze progress. Select which opportunities and information to view.

To refresh the list with new or edited information, select Refresh.

To filter by status or date, select Choose filters. For more information, see List filters.

Manage a constituent's opportunities
On a constituent's record, manage their opportunities under Opportunities. For each opportunity, see details such as gift purpose, assigned fundraiser, and solicitation status. View key funding amounts and dates. For deeper analysis, select the Opportunities total to view and manage a full list of opportunities.
Tip: Filter a constituent's opportunities to view those marked as inactive or with a specific status, such as those ready to assign to fundraisers or for cultivation.

Make an opportunity active or inactive
To keep an opportunity for historical reference but remove it from list, such as if you disqualify a constituent for a major gift after multiple attempts to contact them, select Mark inactive.
To resume an inactive opportunity, such as if a constituent finally replies with a favorable response, select Mark active.
Tip: Don’t see this option? Contact your system admin for rights to make this type of change.
Tip: By default, only active efforts appear in opportunity lists. To view inactive efforts, select Choose filters, Inactive, Apply changes. At the top of the list, select Inactive, Include inactive and Apply filter.
Delete an opportunity
To delete an opportunity, such as one added to the wrong constituent, remove it from the database view:

From Records, open the constituent record associated with the opportunity.

Select the Prospects tab.

From the list on the left, select Proposal.

Select the proposal to remove, then select Delete from the action bar.

Link a gift to an opportunity
To link a gift to an opportunity:

From a gift record, under Opportunities, select Edit.

Select the opportunities to link to the gift record or select Add opportunity to add a new link.

To link the gift to another constituent’s opportunities, select Apply to other constituent.

Enter the amount to apply to the opportunity.
Note: Applied opportunities may not exceed the gift amount.

Select Save.
Note: In the database view, opportunities appear as proposals.
