Email Sending and Publishing
When you create an email in Communications, Email, you set how you want to use it after you design the message. Depending on the option you select, you can:

Send the email from Communications, Email as a one-time message.

Publish the email so that it's available in Communications, Workflow designer to use in automated workflows.

Send test emails to yourself and other reviewers to confirm that the message renders as intended. Consider testing your email with the following:

Email clients, such as Gmail, Outlook, and Thunderbird
-
Browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, and Safari
-
Dark mode
-
Multiple screen sizes
Note: Test emails expire after 7 days. Links and other features in older test emails may not work. Merge fields in test emails display placeholder text.

From the email designer, under Finalize your email, prepare the email for delivery.

Under Set the purpose, choose to send the message as a one-time email from Marketing, Email.

Under Enter details, enter the information about your email. For more information, see Email Details.

Under Send a test, enter the email addresses — up to ten — of those to receive the test email and select Send test.

Under Set who receives it, choose who to send the email to and which email addresses to use.
By default,Raiser's Edge NXT sends messages to the email address that's marked Primary
on a constituent's record. To send to a different address type instead, select it under Email address type. If a record doesn't include the email address type you select,Raiser's Edge NXT suppresses the constituent from the message.
Note: Sometimes, a constituent doesn't have an email address marked Primary
because their information was entered in database view. In these cases, Raiser's Edge NXTsends the message to the oldest email address on their record.

Under Schedule when to send select whether to send it right away or at a later date.

To queue the email for immediate delivery, select Send it right away and then Send.

To schedule the email for a later date, select Send it at a later date, select the date and time, and then select Schedule Email.

To save the email for later delivery, select Save and Close.

Under Finalize your email, prepare the email for delivery.

Under Set the purpose, choose the option to use this email for Workflow designer.

Choose whether to publish or save the email.

To publish the email so that it's available in Tools, Workflow Designer to use in an automated workflows, select Publish.

To save the email as a draft, select Save and Close.
