Constituent Merge Fields
To help personalize your communications with constituents, you can include merge fields to provide details about the specific recipient, such as name or giving information. To include personal information in an email, choose it from Merge fields as you edit its content's text.

For an estimate of how much the constituent gave your organization in total over the course of your relationship, select Merge fields, Giving, Lifetime giving. This estimate includes giving through the gift types your organization views as recognition giving. For more information, see Constituent Giving.

For details about the constituent's important milestone giving, select Merge fields, Giving, and choose which gift information to include in your email content.

First gift amount and First gift date — The amount or date of their initial gift to your organization.

Latest gift amount and Latest gift date — The amount or date of their most recent gift to your organization.

Greatest gift amount and Greatest gift date — The amount or date of their largest gift to your organization.
To recognize the constituent's impact, the first, latest, and greatest gifts include the gift types your organization views as recognition giving. For more information, see Constituent Giving.

To address the constituent personally in the email, select Merge fields, Donor, and choose which components of their name to include. For example:

To set a friendly tone, include only their first name, such as in the salutation of the email.

For a more formal communication, include their first name, middle name, and last name, as well as any title or suffix.

To include the constituent's full name, including any titles or suffixes, select Name.

To help personalize a communication, select Preferred name to include an informal name the constituent likes to go by.
Note: In the database view, preferred names appear as nicknames.

For the constituent's contact information, select Merge fields, Donor, and choose which details to include.

For their mailing address, you can include individual components such as Address block — for their street address — or Postcode.
Tip: To include the recipient's full mailing address, select Formatted address.

Note: Merge fields in test emails display placeholder text. Emails to constituents replace placeholder text with the appropriate values scraped from the constituent's record.
