New Constituent Records from JustGiving
When the JustGiving integration is enabled, new constituent records are created or matched on existing records in Raiser's Edge NXT for both: fundraisers who created JustGiving pages, and donors who gave to JustGiving pages (including those who gave through guest checkout). To avoid creating duplicate records, the integration uses First name, Last name, and Email to search for an existing record. If it finds an exact match for the person’s last name and email, and a match for their first or nickname, it updates their existing record with details about their JustGiving fundraising page or gift. If no match is found, a new constituent record is created.
Note: Currently, the criteria the integration uses to match existing constituent records isn't available to edit. For more information, see Automatic Constituent Matching.
Note: The fundraiser's address only synchronizes to Raiser's Edge NXT if a default address type is set under Default Settings. For more information, see Default Settings for the JustGiving Integration
On the new (or matched) constituent record, the email type and constituent code are added (or updated) based on your configuration from Settings, JustGiving Integration, Default settings. For more information, see Default Settings for the JustGiving Integration.
On the constituent record, you can view additional details that synchronized from JustGiving.
Under Peer-to-peer fundraising, you can see a list of every fundraising page that the constituent created in JustGiving, along with a link to the the fundraising page, the goal, and the amount raised so far. Select the amount raised to view the list of all gifts donated to that fundraising page.
Note: Peer-to-peer fundraising only appears when the JustGiving Integration is enabled, and it appears for all constituents whether or not they've created a fundraising page.
Note: JustGiving teams, which allows fundraising page owners to join their pages together to contribute to an overall goal, are not currently supported in Raiser's Edge NXT. Therefore, JustGiving team totals, team name, and team URL do not synchronize. However, all data from individual team member's fundraising pages do synchronize.
Under Consent, you can find the constituent's decision that they made in JustGiving to opt in or out of email messages. For more information, see Consent
-
The channel defaults to Email. The category displays the value you mapped for Email consent category under Default settings. If you leave Email consent category blank, the consent category is blank on the constituent's record.
Tip: For gifts donated via guest checkout, the consent channel displays as Email with no response.
-
The date is either when the donation occurred or the fundraising page was created.
-
The Consent statement contains the URL and version number of JustGiving's consent statement.
-
The Privacy notice contains the URL of JustGiving's privacy policy statement at the time the constituent chose to opt-in or out of email messages.
-
Unless you set up a source type of JustGiving, the Source remains blank.
Tip: To identify where the constituent made the consent decision, add a custom source type of JustGiving in database view. From Configuration, Tables, select Consent Source, and add a new table entry for JustGiving. If you do this, the Source field defaults to JustGiving instead of remaining blank.
-
To further verify that the consent record was added by the integration, Added by NXT System User (JustGiving Integration) appears, with the date that it synchronized. For more information, see NXT System Users.
