Default Settings for the JustGiving Integration
Before data can synchronize from JustGiving, set up defaults so data can map correctly in Raiser's Edge NXT and meet your organization's requirements for constituent and gift records. Under Control Panel, Settings, select JustGiving Integration and set up defaults for new gift records and new constituents from JustGiving.
Choose from your existing Raiser's Edge NXT fields to set a default fund, appeal, and campaign on all gifts synchronized from JustGiving.
Tip: To set different defaults on gifts that come from specific JustGiving campaigns or events, see JustGiving Settings Overrides.
-
Select a default Appeal to apply to new gift records. For more information, see Appeals.
-
Select a default Package to apply to new gift records. For more information, see Appeals.
-
Select a default Campaign to apply to new gift records. For more information, see Campaigns.
-
Select a default Fund to apply to new gift records. For more information, see Funds.
Warning: To ensure gifts can continue to synchronize from JustGiving, do not: set the default fund to Inactive, delete it, or allow its end date to pass.
-
Select a default Receipt status to apply to new gift records to mark it as Receipted, Not Receipted, or Needs receipt. For more information, see Acknowledgements and Receipts.
-
Select a default Acknowledgement status to apply to new gift records to mark it as Acknowledged, Needs Acknowledgement, or Do not Acknowledge. For more information, see Acknowledgements and Receipts.
-
Set a default Acknowledgement letter to send out in response to new gifts.
Note: To generate acknowledgement letters, use the Donor Acknowledgement Letters task in Mail in the database view.
-
Set a default Gift subtype to apply to new gift records to further define the gifts.
Note: You can manage available gift subtypes in Tables. For more information, see Tables.
Choose default settings to apply to the new constituent records of those who have either created a fundraising page or made a donation in JustGiving.
-
Under Constituent code applied to donors, select a constituent code to apply to those who have made a donation in JustGiving. For more information, see Constituent Codes.
-
Under Constituent code applied to fundraisers, select a constituent code to apply to those who have created a fundraising page in JustGiving. For more information, see Constituent Codes.
-
Under Primary name formats you can set an Addressee or Salutation format to apply to the donor's or fundraiser's record.
-
Under Consent you can set a default Email consent category for donors and fundraisers who opt in to communications in JustGiving.
-
Under Anonymous donor first name, Anonymous donor last name, and Anonymous donor email address you can edit the defaults for the anonymous constituent record.
When a donor give anonymously, the integration uses whatever information they provided to search for a match on an existing Raiser's Edge NXT constituent. If a match is found, the gift is applied to the constituent. Otherwise, the gift is applied to the anonymous constituent record in Raiser's Edge NXT.
Note: Donations given anonymously from the United Kingdom are always applied to the anonymous constituent record.
Tip: To help you identify the donor of anonymous gifts, go to JustGiving reporting and check if the donor left their name and information under Donor Message.
-
Under Address type for new addresses, select an address type that will be applied to the address provided by the fundraising page owner or donor.
-
Address type for new address is left blank.
-
The fundraising page owner or donor does not provide an address.
-
The fundraising page owner or donor enters a country that is not configured on your site. You can configure your country codes in database view in International under Configuration.
-
Under Email type for new emails, select an email type that will be applied to the email provided by the fundraising page owner or donor. An email type is required to create a new constituent record.
Note: You can manage available email address types from Phone Type in Tables. For more information, see Tables.
Tip: You can review or create address types in the database view from the Address Type category in Tables under Configuration.
An address won't synchronize from JustGiving to Raiser's Edge NXT if:
Note: If a match is found for an existing constituent in Raiser's Edge NXT, the existing record is updated with the address provided in JustGiving and address type. If the existing record already has an address that matches the one found in JustGiving, it retains its original address and address type — it does not update the address type based on what is configured under the Default Settings.
Warning: Once you have selected a default Email type, do not set it as Inactive or delete it, because this will prevent new constituents and any gifts given to their fundraising pages from synchronizing from JustGiving to Raiser's Edge NXT
When the default settings are complete, the Integration settings page displays details about the import, including the date of the initial synchronization.
Note: The data only flows one way - from JustGiving to Raiser's Edge NXT. Changes you make in Raiser's Edge NXT to the integration settings, constituent records, or donation records will never affect the data in JustGiving. This means that the data may not be identical in both systems.
Note: When a new fundraising page is created or a new gift occurs in JustGiving, you can expect to see it in Raiser's Edge NXT within a few hours.
Warning: Changes to the default settings only apply to gifts and constituents going forward, and don't apply retroactively to gifts and constituents that have already synchronized.
