Roles, tasks, and permissions
Roles, tasks, and permissions control what users can see and do. You can use the following role tasks to control user access by assigning the tasks to specific roles.
Note: Constituent code based record security doesn't apply to Prospect Insights data. Users can view Prospect Insights data for any prospect record permitted by their portfolio permissions. For more information, see Record Security.

Tasks
Prospect workflow tasks include the following tasks. You can access these tasks from Security, Role management, Fundraising roles.

Manage prospects — Allows users to manage prospect qualifications, assignments, and dismissals.

Research prospects — Allows users to view prospect information, including giving history and wealth attributes.

Personal portfolio — Allows users to view prospect information for only the prospects assigned to them. Typically, this task is assigned to fundraisers.

All portfolios — Allows users to view information for all prospects, including which fundraisers are assigned to a prospect. Generally, this task is assigned to researchers, directors, or chief development officers.
You can customize tasks by adding or removing permissions. For detailed information on how to modify task permissions, see Tasks and Permissions.
Permissions
Each Prospect workflow task has one or more of the following permissions.

View — Allows users to view prospect information, including giving history and wealth attributes. The permission is required to access Prospect Insights pages and see any Prospect Insights related information in the Work Center or on a constituent record. We recommend that you leave this option selected.

Assign — Allows users to assign prospects to a fundraiser.

Manage personal portfolio — Allows users to view prospect information for only the prospects assigned to them. Users with this permission can also view all unassigned prospects in Prospect Insights lists and qualify, assign, or dismiss them. However, they can only assign those prospects to themselves.

Manage all portfolios — Allows users to view information for all prospects, including which fundraisers are assigned to a prospect.
