Raiser's Edge NXT and Luminate Online
Integrating Raiser's Edge NXT with Luminate Online allows you to sync constituent and transaction data between the two systems. To start with a new integration, reach out to Blackbaud for assistance.
Access Luminate Online from Raiser's Edge NXT left navigation. Permissions are required for access.
About web view versus database view
The database view integration remains available during this transition, but the new web view integration offers an intuitive experience with a modern interface and enhanced workflows.
While we continue to update web view functionality to adopt database view capabilities, you'll want to review the information below for what is and is not available now, and what will not be coming to web view.
How does the integration work?
Once integrated:
-
Constituents and transactions in Luminate Online require manual review and approval to sync to Raiser's Edge NXT. The records are marked to show origination in Luminate Online.
-
Constituents in Raiser's Edge NXT automatically sync to Luminate Online.
Integration syncs three data types:
-
Event registrations(registrations only)
For a full list of field mappings, see Field Mapping Between Luminate Online and Raiser's Edge NXT.
To manage sync issues, use Luminate Online integration in Raiser's Edge NXT instead of Queue Problem Management in Luminate Online. In Raiser's Edge NXT, go to Settings, Control Panel, Luminate Online integration.
Tip: Integration with Raiser's Edge database view remains available during the transition to Raiser's Edge NXT. For database view information, see Raiser's Edge and Luminate Online.
Security permissions for processing constituents and gifts
To process any transactions, users need permissions for constituents and gifts in database view.
Note: Security permissions in database view determine visibility and access to constituent and gift data. Setting these permissions in database view also apply to web view. You don't need to take any additional action.
Constituents
-
Actions (constituent):
-
Unchecking this permission hides the constituent card
-
It enables gift processing for linked constituents
-
-
Spouse and organization permissions:
-
If these permissions are not granted, spouse and organization details remain hidden
-
Missing spouse permission triggers an error when opening a constituent record
-
-
Record-level security:
-
New constituent records won't process if the constituent code is restricted in Security by constituency. Ensure the security settings allow access for constituent codes.
-
Gifts
-
Complete gifts permission: if disabled, the gift action button is hidden
-
Constituent-related permissions: Missing permissions block gift processing when saving a gift
-
Record-level security: Restricting funds using Gift security by fund prevents gift processing for those funds
-
Event-related permissions: Missing permissions block gift processing when saving a gift related to an event
Note: Users must have access to specific record types, such as gift fund or constituent ID, to process transactions that create those records. Without the correct permissions, the system will prevent record creation. Ensure your users with processing rights have access to record types needed for a successful Luminate Online integration.
