Manage Access for a Specific Basic or Advanced List by Role (EAP)

Use security roles to determine who can use a specific list. If a user has at least one role that grants access, then they'll have access, regardless of their other roles.

  1. Schools participating in the early adopter program (EAP) can use a "sneaky link" url to access a new experience for managing basic and advanced lists. When you join the EAP, save the link to your browser's bookmarks.

A list of basic and advanced lists appears.

Note: Not in the EAP? See basic lists and advanced lists instead.

  2. Choose which Columns of data to show.

Then Filter and sort the list.

  3. Search for a specific list.

  4. When you find the list, select the ellipsis (...) at the beginning of its row and then select Manage role access.

Alternatively, select the count of Role access.

  5. To remove access for all members of a role, find it in the list and then select No access.

  6. To grant access for all members of a role, find it in the list and then select Run.

  7. To allow members of role to use the list as inspiration for other lists, find the role and then select Copy.

  8. Note: Users who can manage a list can determine whether other user can also Run, Copy, Edit, or Manage the list. To determine who can manage a list, configure access by user, instead of by role. See Manage access for a specific basic or advanced list by user.

  9. Select Save.

See Manage Basic and Advanced Lists and Security roles and tasks.

Tip: To determine who can create advanced lists, see Manage access to create advanced lists by role .
