Save and manage payment methods

Save payment methods to speed up making payments for your Current bill. Payment methods are limited to those supported by your school, and may include credit cards, debit cards, and bank accounts.

To get started, hover over Billing in the navigation and select Payment methods.

Note: You see only the options your school accepts, so Add credit or debit card and Add bank account may not both appear. If the type you want to use is missing, contact your school.

Note: You cannot change which card or account Auto-Pay uses from this page. A banner at the top links to View payment plans, where you manage that separately. See Manage automatic payments.

Review your saved methods

Saved methods are grouped into Credit and debit cards and Bank accounts. Each row shows the name you gave the method, followed by the card or account type and its last four digits, such as Mastercard ending in 4444.

Two labels can appear beside a method:

Default The method selected first when you make a payment. Only one method can be the default.
Expired A warning that the card's expiration date has passed. Payments and Auto-Pay withdrawals using that card will fail until you replace it.

Cards also show an Expires date. Check it before a due date, especially if the card is your default or is used for Auto-Pay—an expired card is the most common reason a payment does not go through.

Note: An expired card is still offered as a choice when you make a payment, and it can still be marked Default. Nothing stops you from selecting it, so check the Expires date yourself before you pay.

Add a credit or debit card

  1. Select Add credit or debit card.

  2. Enter a Payment method name (e.g., Chase Rewards). This is the name that identifies the method in your list.

  3. Optional: Select Use as a default payment method. If selected, this payment method will be the default choice when making future payments.

  4. Under Card information, select Enter card information and follow the prompts.

  5. Select Save.

Saved credit or debit cards appear under Credit and debit cards.

Add bank account

  1. Select Add bank account.

  2. Enter a Payment method name.

  3. Optional: Select Use as a default payment method. If selected, this payment method will be the default choice when making future payments.

  4. Under Account information, select Enter account information and follow the prompts.

  5. Select Save.

Saved bank accounts are listed under Bank accounts.

Note: (For CAD) Saved direct debit payment methods are eligible to be used for payments three days after being added.

Update or remove a payment method

Each saved method has an edit icon and a delete icon at the end of its row.

Select the edit icon to open Update, where you can:

  • Change the Payment method name.

  • Select Use as a default payment method. This is also how you move the default from one method to another after both are saved.

  • Edit the card or account information, such as replacing an expired card with one that has a current expiration date.

Select the delete icon to remove a method from your list. If you delete the method marked Default, you are left without a default—edit another method to set a new one.

Note: Deleting a saved method does not remove it from an Auto-Pay enrollment that uses it. The enrollment keeps that card or account, so change it from your payment plan as well.
