Use the Calendar

All personas may have access to "school generated" calendars. Users also have access to "persona generated" calendars.

If a user has access to a calendar, but doesn't have access to an event category included in that calendar, then events from that category are excluded from the user's view of the calendar.

• Print a Calendar (as any Persona)

• Export a Calendar Feed (as any Persona)

You can customize how calendars appear for view (including as a traditional grid or a vertical list with relevant details). Use a custom date range to specify a start and end date to limit the view to show all events within that time period.

Note: Platform managers use roles to limit who can access each calendar. Platform managers also determine when each calendar is active or inactive, how calendars should appear, and more. To configure calendars, see calendar. To manage events (which appear in calendars), see events.

School generated calendars (for all personas)

Schools create calendars to serve the school's specific needs. Some calendars may be based on iCal feeds from external sources (such as common public, government, and religious holidays). Others may be created manually for standardized tests, school and community events, celebrations, fund raising activities, deadlines, recommendations for personal and professional development, and more.

These are based on event categories that you create which includes the School Athletics calendar.

Platform managers can add, edit and delete school these calendars.

To view additional information about an event that appears in the calendar grid or list, select the event.

• If you're an event manager, an option to Edit the event also appears from the detail view.

• If a registration form was added to an event, users can select Register to access the form and complete the form.

Admissions scheduling calendars

For admissions managers and their staff at schools which use Enrollment management these calendars are based on an visits, interviews, and events created for Admissions Scheduling.

Persona generated calendars

Based on your personas, your "My" sections will contain different persona generated calendars. These are based on an individual’s persona and will reflect the classes, teams, and groups to which that individual belongs. Persona generated calendars were formerly known as the “My” calendars.

Note: Some users (including parents) may see "duplicate" events in their calendars. These duplications are usually working as designed and are not errors (not "bugs"). Sometimes events may appear multiple times on a calendar view, such as if the user and one of their children are both affected by the event. If an event exists on both user’s ‘My’ calendar and school-wide calendar, the event will only show a single time with the color of the first calendar that appears on the list of calendars. Similarly, if an event appears on more than one school-wide calendar, it will appear for a user only a single time with the color of the first calendar in the list. As calendars are selected and deselected, the color of the event may change to match the specific calendar.
