How are we using AI to generate invoice requests and upload credit card charge receipts in Expense Management?
This feature integrates Microsoft's Azure AI Document Intelligence and Blackbaud AI into Financial Edge NXT. This rich integration automates the invoice creation and submission process as well as the ability to quickly add credit charge receipt details within Expense Management.
After you upload reimbursement receipts, invoices, and charge receipts directly into Financial Edge NXT, you can select to generate the request or upload the charge receipt. AI scans the files and extracts key data points including requestor, invoice number and date, description, expense detail and purpose, and expense category. These details are then added to a new, open invoice request or to credit card transaction details. This results in a faster, more accurate and user-friendly experience that reduces manual data entry and minimizes errors.
Uploaded expense receipt and invoices are attached to open requests, and charge receipts are added to credit card transactions. Users can quickly preview them at any time. Your business office can then follow your existing approval and processing workflows that you have today.
Tip: On the go? As you generate invoice requests or add charge transaction details, take a photo of your expense receipt, invoice, or charge receipt or choose from photos you've saved.
Is there a cost associated with using AI to generate invoice requests or upload credit card charge receipts?
At this time, users included in our Early Adopter Program (EAP) can use this functionality for free.
Does AI learn from the changes I make to extracted data?
Yes, AI learns from the content you input. For example, an expense category is extracted and added to a new invoice request. If this category isn't correct and you change it, AI learns from this for next time.
Can I still manually add invoice requests?
Yes, you can choose to manually add invoice requests whenever you'd like.
After I upload an invoice to generate a request, will the request be open?
Yes, the request will be open, unposted, and not approved. Your business office can mange them the same way they would requests that were added manually.
Can I still manually add details to credit card transactions?
Yes, you can choose to manually add credit card transaction details whenever you'd like.
Do my credit card feeds need to be connected in Expense Management in order to use AI?
No, credit card feeds don't need to be connected.
Are Yodlee credit card feeds or the Blackbaud Purchase Card feed dependent on AI?
No, Yodlee and Blackbaud Purchase Card are not associated or dependent at all.
When will this feature be generally available for all customers?
We'll monitor your feedback throughout this time to determine next steps as we prepare for general availability. After we have fully developed, we'll communicate a generally available date using our normal communication channels including what's new, what's next, financial post in the community, and product update briefings (PUBs).
