Delete Options

Options can be removed from a custom data table using the Custom Data Import File.

Warning: If a data table is already in use in fields and forms, proceed with caution when removing its options. Values removed from a data table will not be removed from applications that have already been submitted. If an application containing a removed field is edited, its content will refresh to the current state of the list and the value will be lost.

Tip: An alternative to deleting an option is to deactivate it.

  1. Navigate to the Program Setup > Custom Forms > Custom Data Tables tab.

  2. Select the ellipsis icon next to the table and then Export data.

Note: A CSV file (i.e., Custom Data Import File) with columns for key, value, sortOrder, and inactive will be automatically downloaded. All options currently in the table will be included in the file.

  3. Remove any rows from the Custom Data Import File that should be permanently removed from the list.

  4. Return to the Program Setup > Custom Forms > Custom Data Tables tab.

  5. Select the ellipsis icon next to the item and then Import data.

  6. From the Import Custom Data screen, select the Select file button.

  7. Find and select the completed Custom Data Import File to upload.

Tip: The Custom Data Import File will be automatically validated for proper formatting and required fields upon upload.

  8. Correct any errors that appear. Errors will be listed in the screen and can be downloaded by selecting the Download errors button.

  9. If any changes were made, reupload the corrected file and verify the information before importing the data.

  10. Select the Import data button to finalize the import.

The options shown in the Custom Data Table View will update to only include those included in the file. Any options that were removed from the Custom Data Import File will be automatically deleted from the data table.

Tip: The Export data and Import data tools can also be accessed from the Custom Data Table View.
