The two-step process for Delayed Self-Pledge (DSP) provides the opportunity to make DSP an optional choice for participants.
Note: We recommend using the one-step process for Delayed Self-Pledge. The one-step process enforces a cap on the amount that participants must pay, so that they are only responsible for meeting the minimum fundraising goal set on the participation type, and not for any extra amount entered by the participant.
The two-step process honors the amount a participant pledges to raise, even when that amount is greater than the minimum fundraising amount for the participation type.
For example, if the minimum fundraising amount for the participation type is $300, but a participant pledges $1000, the participant is accountable for $1000.
