Deactivate Your Nonprofit
If your organization no longer wants to receive donations through the YourCause Nonprofit Platform, you can request to deactivate your charity profile in NPOconnect by sending a formal letter to our team using the Nonprofit Platform Service Inquiry form.
Warning: This action is final and cannot be reversed. Deactivating your organization removes it from all Giving, Volunteering, and Corporate Grants programs across all YourCause solutions - including CSRconnect and GrantsConnect. Donations cannot be processed to your organization.
Note: To deactivate a chapter or affiliate, see Deactivate or Remove Chapters.
How to request deactivation
Please contact our team by completing the Nonprofit Platform Service Inquiry form. In your ticket, include a formal letter of request on your organization's formal letterhead. It should also contain the following information:
-
Organization's full name and identification number (EIN, Registration ID, etc.)
-
Reason for deactivation
-
Requester's first name, last name, and title
Note: It's recommended that the requester be registered as a Nonprofit Administrator for your organization. If they aren't, you must provide proof of identity so that our team can verify you're authorized to act on behalf of the organization. For more information, see Documents Accepted for Role Verification and Proof of Identity.
After we've received all required documentation, we'll deactivate the organization within 3 business days. A follow-up email will be sent to the requester once complete.
