Add gifts in grid batch
Note: Don't have the new grid batch yet? Expect its wider release in a future update.
The grid batch offers an easier workflow for adding several gifts to a batch. From Gifts, Overview, select Add, New grid batch, or on an existing unapproved batch's record, select Edit, Edit in grid view.
You can edit the batch's number, description, expected number of gifts, and expected batch total.
To ease the gift entering process, select Batch configuration to rearrange the batch's columns, enter defaults for fields, and hide fields you don't need.

Note: Your batch's fields may vary and/or be in a different order depending on how it was configured. For more information, see Batch configuration.

Select Add a gift to create a new gift row.
Tip: To create a new row, at the end of a row you can enter Tab. Or in the middle of a row, select Esc on a field, then the down arrow.

In Constituent, search for the individual or organization who gave the gift.

In Amount and Gift date, enter how much the donor gave and when.

In Gift type, select whether the gift is one-time, recurring, gift-in-kind, or other. For more information, see Gift Types.

In Payment method, select how the donor paid.

When you choose credit card or direct debit, Payment details is editable for you to choose a payment configuration.

For credit cards, select Payment details, choose a payment configuration, select if the card is physically present, and then complete the transaction through Blackbaud Checkout.

For direct debit, select Payment details, choose a payment configuration, and then complete the transaction through Blackbaud Checkout.

Tip: If there are no payment configurations available, an admin should check settings and credentials in the database view. For more information, see Payment Configuration Troubleshooting.

If the donor requested that you use their gift for more than one fundraising initiative, select Split. Indicate the split amount and the associated Appeal, Package, Campaign, and Fund.

Select Add another split to add another split amount.

Select Distribute evenly to enter the same amount for each split.

Enter the Fund for the gift.

Select Apply to Pledge to apply this gift to an existing pledge.

Select Select pledges to open all existing pledges for the constituent with outstanding payments.

Select the pledge payment.

Select Apply amount.

Enter the Campaign, Appeal, and Package for the gift.

To add soft credits, select Add soft credits and enter the constituent and amount.

To add fundraiser credits, select Add fundraiser credits, and enter the fundraiser and amount.

To add a custom field, select Add custom fields and select a category.

Select a category, and enter a value, date, and comment.

To start a new gift row, tab at the end of a gift row or select Add a gift.

When you finish adding gifts, select Save and review.
Note: Gift records aren't created until the batch is approved. A batch can't be approved if there are any exceptions. Review and resolve the exceptions in the Status column. To approve a batch, see Gift Batch Records.
