Opportunities

Opportunities track your efforts, or actions, to build relationships with prospects and secure major gifts. They help you manage the process, from identifying a prospect to receiving a gift and planning its use.

An opportunity can only be associated with one constituent. However, a constituent may have multiple opportunities associated with them. For example, to track actions related to an upcoming fundraising campaign, you'd need to create a separate opportunity for each constituent you plan to contact about the campaign, even though the opportunity's purpose (the fundraising campaign) is the same.

You can view opportunities from:

  • the opportunity's record

  • constituent or gift records

  • lists

To open an opportunity record, select its name in a list or on its constituent's or gift's record. For detailed information, see Opportunity Records.

Tip: In Work Center, you can view and manage only opportunities assigned to you or for constituents you work with as a fundraiser. For more information, see Work Center.
