Add Parameters to Webpage and Hosted URLs

Add fundraising parameters to webpage URLs or hosted donation form URLs to track designations, campaigns, appeals, packages and personalized giving amounts.

When possible, add parameters to a webpage URL on your website. Website URLs use your organization's branding, which can help build trust with supporters. If you can't place the Online Giving Loader Script on your website, add parameters directly to a hosted donation form URL.

Before you begin, find the IDs for the parameters you want to track.

Tip: To save time and reduce errors, use the URL parameter builder to assemble a valid URL. This ensures the parameters are combined correctly so you don't have to manage the URL formatting rules manually.

Webpage URLs

The webpage URL you use depends on where the Online Giving Loader Script is located on your website:

  • If the script is installed at the root of your website, you can add parameters to any webpage URL on the site.

  • If the script is installed on a specific webpage, you can add parameters only to that webpage URL.

Note: If the webpage contains multiple donation forms, URL parameters override the designation, campaign, or appeal and package configured in those forms.

Paste the URL into a text or HTML editor, and then add the parameters.

Hosted URLs

If you can't place the Online Giving Loader Script on your website, you can add parameters to a donation form's hosted URL.

Find the Hosted URL

  1. From Online Giving, select Donation forms, and then select the form.

  2. Select Publish methods.

  3. Select Hosted URL and copy the URL.

  4. Paste the URL into a text or HTML editor, and then add the parameters.
