Optimized Opportunities

Having optimized opportunities in place for prospects that you've already determined meet your organization's major giving criteria allows you to focus your efforts and drive more major gifts in less time.

An optimized opportunity is an opportunity that:

  • has an Ask amount that reflects the prospect's giving capacity

  • has at least one action associated with it

  • is assigned to a fundraiser

Process for Optimizing Opportunities

The process for optimizing opportunities includes the following steps:

  1. Use the Optimization status filter on the Undergiving queue to identify prospects who haven't been optimized. For details, see Use Filters to Find Prospects.

  2. Starting from the top of the Undergiving queue, for each prospect, under Prospect management review the following details.

Note: This part of the process can be applied to any Prospect Insights Pro queue.

    • Is there an active opportunity listed?

    • Is there an active action listed?

      • If not, create an action and associate it with an opportunity.

Tip: Use Blackbaud AI - Chat to create action plans for opportunities.

      • If so, check each action to see if it is associated with an opportunity. For unassociated actions, if it seems appropriate, link the action to an opportunity.

For more information, see Actions and Undergiving queue.
