Raiser's Edge NXT Connection
Online Giving uses an automated connection to add donors and gifts from Blackbaud Donation Forms to Raiser's Edge NXT. For new and updated constituent records, you can choose the default values for fields that aren't captured on forms. For example, you can set Address to "Home" or "Work" and apply it automatically to addresses captured through forms. You can also set the fund to assign to donor cover fees.
Tip: To understand how the connection matches donors to existing constituents, review automatic constituent matching and online date review in Raiser's Edge NXT.
Note: The values you set in Online Giving also update the default settings for registration forms in Raiser's Edge NXT under Tools, Settings, Form settings.

-
From Online Giving, select Settings.
-
Under Raiser's Edge NXT connection, select Field mappings.
-
Set the fields you want to map to constituent records.
-
Email type identifies the email address captured through forms, such as Personal or Business.
-
Address type identifies the mailing address captured through forms, such as Home or Work.
Note: To mark new address as primary when existing constituents enter their addresses through forms, select Mark new addresses for existing constituents as primary. For example, if you spell out words such as Street or Lane and a constituent enters an abbreviation, duplicate detection identifies the difference as a new address. To leave existing addresses that are properly formatted and marked primary, clear Mark new addresses for existing constituents as primary. Clearing it saves new addresses as additional information on constituent records.
Tip: To help identify new addresses, use an address type specifically for online forms. For example, create a “for review” address type and set it under Address mapping. When you’re ready to review the addresses, create a query in database view based on the “for review” address type, and then update them as necessary.
-
NANP phone type identifies phone numbers that follow the North American Number Plan (NANP). Select a phone type with a phone number format that follows the NANP.
-
Other phone type identifies phone numbers not following NANP. Select a phone type without a phone number format.
-
Constituent code defines the affiliations your donors have with your organization, such as online donor.

Tip: You can manage these fields from Tables in Raiser's Edge NXT. Email is a special table entry that you manage as a phone type.

To track how much donors cover when they donate, you can split their transactions and use a different designation (fund) for the fees.
To set the donor cover designation, from Online Giving, select Settings, Donor cover designation. If you do not set it, Online Giving uses the gift's designation for the covered fee amount.
To learn how donors can help cover fees, see Fee Coverage.
