Assignment Center Overview

The Assignment Center is the central location where teachers manage assignments, assessments, and graded discussions across all courses. Teachers access the Assignment Center from the Faculty persona by selecting My Day, Assignment Center.

Switch Between Views

Use the view icons in the upper-right corner to switch between:

List view

Calendar view

Use List View

List view displays assignments in a sortable, exportable table format.

Customize Your List View

Tip: Use Preferences to set defaults and use Filters and Columns for temporary changes.

  • Select Filter to refine assignments by:

    • Due date

    • Publish status

    • Assignment type

    • Class section

  • Select Columns to control which details appear.

  • Select More, Return to default view to reset filters and columns.

  • Select More, Preferences, then Assignment lists to set your Assignment center list defaults.

    • Show assignments due: Select a default due date range to apply in your Assignment Center list view.

    • Publish status: Select Not published to display only unpublished assignments by default. Select Published to display only published assignments by default. Or, to display all assignments by default, regardless of their publish status, leave this option blank.

    • Sort column: Set the default sorting field.

Add Assignments from List View

Select +Add, then the type of assignment you want to create:

From the context menu next to an assignment, you can:

View Student Assignment Submissions from List View

  • Select the number in the Submitted column to open a list of all students that indicates who has submitted the assignment.

  • Select a student name to open the grading page.

Additional List View Options

Under More, you can:

  • Export assignment lists to CSV.

  • Import assignments from other courses or years.

  • Recover deleted assignments.

  • Access your Preferences.

  • Access assignment calendar feeds.

    Note: Assignment Center calendar feeds include only the next 60 days. Use the persona calendar feeds to include the next 12 months.

  • Select Reports to run available assignment reports. Access permissions are set by your administrator.

Use Calendar View

Calendar view displays assignments by date.

Calendar View Navigation and Display Options

  • Select Month, Week, or Day to change the time range.

  • Use arrows to move between dates.

  • Select Today to return to the current date.

  • Choose how assignments are displayed on the calendar

    • Assigned: Shows assignments by assigned date.

    • Due: Shows assignments by due date.

    • Active: Shows assignments across their full assigned date to due date range.

Filter Calendar View Classes

Select Filter to display specific classes.

Add Assignments from Calendar View

Select the type of assignment to create:

Select an assignment to open the grading page.

Additional Calendar View Options

  • Access your Preferences.

  • Select the RSS icon to access calendar feeds.

    Note: Assignment Center calendar feeds include only the next 60 days. Use the persona calendar feeds to include the last 2 months and 12 future months.

  • Select the Reports icon to open an assignment report. Access permissions are set by your administrator.
