Note: To use Document Intelligence to generate invoices from uploaded documents, your organization admin must first enable generative AI features in your Blackbaud environment. Learn how to opt in to generative AI features globally.

This feature integrates Microsoft's Azure AI Document Intelligence and Blackbaud AI into Financial Edge NXT. This rich integration automates the invoice creation process within Payables.

After you upload invoices directly into Financial Edge NXT, you can select to generate an invoice draft. AI scans the files and extracts key data points including requestor, invoice number and date, description, due date, purchase order number, date created, and created by. These details are then added to an invoice draft. From here, you can review the field valued, make changes as necessary, then convert the draft to a new invoice record. This results in a faster, more accurate and user-friendly experience that reduces manual data entry and minimizes errors.

Your business office can then follow your existing invoice processing workflow that you have today.

Tip: On the go? As you generate invoices, take a photo of your invoice or choose from photos you've saved.

At this time, users included in our Early Adopter Program (EAP) can use this functionality for free.

Yes, AI learns from the content you input. For example, an expense category is extracted and added to a new invoice request. If this category isn't correct and you change it, AI learns from this for next time.

No, Yodlee and Blackbaud Purchase Card are not associated or dependent at all.

Yes, you can choose to manually add standard invoices whenever you'd like.
