Charity Discovery

Use the Charity Discovery tool to view the impact of your programs and discover new charities that align with your organization’s impact goals.

To discover a new charity, use the filters, map, and True Impact Top Outcomes to search from 390,000 charities. Use the table to view your organization’s year-to-date engagement with matching charities, including your total donation amount, award amount, and volunteer hours.

Note: Map placements reflect the charity's location, not the location of the charity's impact. The Charity Discovery tool includes non-US charities, but the available data may be limited.

You can view additional details about a charity. Select it from the table, then select Charity Detail Page or Charity Information Page.

• Charity Information pages show information about the charity itself, such as its YourCause-related statuses and its Predictive Impact ranges.

Candid Seals of Transparency

Candid is a nonprofit that provides nonprofit data to funders. Nonprofits can earn a Candid Seal of Transparency by reporting information about their programming, finances, strategy, and impact to Candid. The Candid Seals of Transparency span four levels, which indicate how much transparency data an organization has reported. True Impact Predictive Impact

True Impact is a social impact measurement platform that provides meaningful insights into the efficiency and impact of charitable organizations. Predictive Impact, or predicted cost per outcome, uses data from both True Impact and Blackbaud to evaluate a charity's program focus, data quality, and outcomes and generate a predicted range of cost per impact.

Each outcome in Impact Edge will include a 1st Quartile and 3rd Quartile cost. The range within these costs represents the most likely cost of impact estimated for this charity and outcome.

You can use this data to compare organizations, identify new partners for your giving programs, and quantify the impact of your giving.

For example, for the outcome "Students improve academic performance," a given charity's predicted cost per student is $353-$2,273. If your organization makes a $10,000 donation, you can communicate your impact as "With our $10,000 donation to an out of school learning program, we expect to improve the academic performance of between 4 and 28 students."

Predictive Impact is not a guarantee of impact. This metric assesses the reasonable range of expected outcomes, not the exact outcomes one charity will achieve over another. Lower costs also do not mean better impact. Different outcomes, populations, regions, and interventions require different amounts of investment to be effective.

Charity Information pages

Select a charity from the Charity Discovery tool to access available information about this organization.

Under Charity Details, you can view basic information about the charity, including:

• Registration Number

• Subsection Code

• Charity Address

• Global Good Network status

• Charity Processor

• US State Revocations

• Eligible for Giving Status (BBGF Eligible, Not BBGF Eligible but Vetting Available, Not BBGF Eligible, or Unknown)

• Vetting Expiration Date

The Charity Codes and Tags show the cause area this charity works in and what populations they serve.

Under Predicted Cost per Outcome, you can view the charity's top outcomes and each outcome's Predictive Impact range.

Under Programs, you can view the charity's description of their mission, work, and programs.

Under Charity Metrics, you can view any impact metrics the charity has reported to Candid, such as the number school lunches served or the number of donations made by board members.
