Set up conditional applications
Conditional applications contain questions related to a sub-set of awards, such as a specific college (e.g., Liberal Arts) or applicant profile (e.g., graduate, continuing ed).
Use conditional applications to streamline the applicant experience (i.e., reducing the number of questions on your General Application).
If applicants meet specific requirements (set via qualifications), they'll be asked to complete one or more conditional applications after finishing their General Application.
After completing the conditional application, applicants may receive additional recommendations for apply-to awards.
Use conditional applications when you have multiple awards related to a sub-set of your applicants, such as a:
-
Specific college or department (e.g., Sciences, Business)
-
Specific classification (e.g., Freshman, Graduate)
-
Specific funding source (e.g., grant, certain donors)
By using a conditional application, you can collect information related to multiple awards without asking the same questions on multiple apply-to opportunities or cluttering your General Application
During implementation or cycle management, system admins may want to create new conditional applications.
To create a new conditional application:
-
Go to Opportunity, General Applications, Conditional - Create New.
-
Add new details to your conditional application. For information regarding scopes, see Scopes.
-
At the bottom of the page, select Create Opportunity.
Tip: To see how many conditional applications are included in your current subscription, go to Site, Settings, Details.
From a conditional application record, work with the following tabs:
-
Details: Update the summary information, Dates, and Review Information
-
Questions: See Add questions
-
Qualifications: See Add qualifications
-
Applications: See all applications drafted or submitted to this application. For more info, see Work with system grids
-
Reviews:
-
To monitor existing reviews, see Monitor reviews
-
To set up reviews, see Create reviewer groups
-
For more on reviews specific to conditional applications, see Manage special reviewing scenarios
-
-
Associated Opportunities: See all active and archived opportunities that use this conditional application as their Source
To pull information from a conditional application onto opportunities or reviewer groups, you'll have to update their Source:
-
On an opportunity or reviewer group, go to the Details tab.
-
Change the Source to match your conditional application.
Tip: If you can't update the Source, check whether you have linked opportunities or reviewer groups. Un-link any linked items and try again.
-
At the bottom of the page, select Update.
If you link a conditional application to an opportunity:
-
Applicants have to complete their conditional application before submitting applications to the opportunity
-
To force-apply an applicant to the opportunity, you'll have to first force-apply them to the conditional application. For more detail, see Manage special awarding situations.
Tip: To see how many conditional applications you're using and still have available, go to Site, Settings, Details.
