Create and Manage Custom Forms

Custom forms collect the information you need during an application, review, or grant management workflow. In Applications > Manage Forms, you can create forms for applicants, reviewers, or grant managers and shape each form to match the process you want to support.

Use the Custom Forms Checklist to plan the build, then create a form from scratch or start with a template if you want a faster setup. If you need to understand who can create or change forms, review the required permissions for custom forms.

After you create a form, you can add fields, organize the layout, configure validation, and publish the form when it is ready for use. The Create New Forms topic walks through the initial setup, and Manage Draft Forms explains how to edit, preview, copy, and remove draft forms.

If your form needs reusable inputs, such as standard fields or data tables, build them with the guidance in Form fields and Custom data tables. You can also add standard product components when they match your use case.

Tips and best practices

  • Plan the form around the workflow first, then add only the fields needed to collect usable data.

  • Start with a template when possible to reduce setup time and keep form design consistent across programs.

  • Use validation and required fields to improve data quality before the form is published.

  • Preview draft forms before publishing so you can confirm field order, labels, and layout on the page.

  • Keep related form guidance together by linking to supporting topics such as Publish forms and Manage published forms.
