Vetting Workflow for Client-Processed Grants
For applications whose grant payments are processed by the client, organizations are not required to be Eligible for Giving in the YourCause Nonprofit Platform.
Note: Applicants will not be prompted to submit a contact for initiating the vetting process. Grant payments for Approved applications can be disbursed by the client regardless of the organization's Eligible for Giving status.
-
Applicant is invited to apply to a grant program or receives the link to start a new application.
-
They click on the invitation or link, navigating to the Applicant Portal to select their organization.
-
In the Select Your Organization modal, they search for their organization.
They select an organization that is not Eligible for Giving.Because vetting is only required for payments processed by YourCause, applicants will not be prompted to provide a contact at their organization who we can reach out to about initiating the vetting process. They will be taken directly to the application.
They use the Add Your Organization tool to manually add their organization as a Private Organization.Warning: This functionality is only available if the program is configured to allow new organizations to be added. For more information, see Set Up Programs to Support Vetting and Adding Organizations.
If their organization does not appear in the search results, they can add it as long as this option is enabled for the program. This is done by clicking on the Add organization link in the Select Your Organization modal and entering the organization's details and contact information.
Note: Organizations appear as Private Organizations when added in a program cycle that is client-processed. They are only available to the client and its applicants. They are not required to be vetted since they will not be made available to the larger YourCause Nonprofit Platform. For more information, see Add and Manage Private Organizations.
Note: The applicant will be taken directly to the application to complete it regardless of the organization's Eligibility for Giving status.
-
They complete the application and submit it for review.
Note: After submitting the application, no further action is required by the applicant.
At any point after the application is submitted, Grant Managers can review and provide a decision - Approve or Decline.
Note: Unlike with YourCause-processed grants, awarding client-processed applications is not impacted by eligibility or vetting. Grant Managers can continue on to creating payments once the application has been Approved.
After the application is Approved, awards and payments can be created and scheduled for processing using the client-processed budget assigned to the program cycle.
