Update to Back-Office, Offline Payment Checkout Experience
Blackbaud Payments has updated the checkout experience for offline payments entered in the back office. These payments will now use the new Blackbaud Checkout modal instead of Classic Blackbaud Checkout.
This change is purely visual. The new modal offers a more modern, intuitive design, but there is no impact on how you set up payments or manage payment processing. All functionality remains the same.
Note: This update is related to a Blackbaud Payments update, not a Luminate Online release.
Version 25.6.2
December 2025
The Luminate Online 25.6.2 release includes foundational, behind-the-scenes updates designed to improve system readiness for future enhancements. While these changes do not introduce new user-facing features, they strengthen the platform’s architecture and prepare us to deliver upcoming improvements more efficiently.

Fee cover options
To help you raise more, you can now choose a fee coverage option for your donation and event registration forms.
-
Donor cover lets donors cover the processing fee for eligible transactions so 100% of their donation goes directly to you. We automatically calculate the fee for each transaction and add it to the gift amount. The full amount is tax-deductible.
-
Complete Cover™ lets Blackbaud pay the fees for eligible transactions up to $3,000. In exchange, we ask the donor to give toward Blackbaud’s service, which eliminates your processing fee. For transactions equal to or greater than $3,000 or recurring gifts, your form automatically transitions to a donor cover fee model.
For more information, see Fee Coverage .
Backend, Offline, Direct Debit Processing
Administrators can now record offline direct debit payments for additional gifts made through TeamRaiser registrations. To do this, navigate to the participant’s record page and add an offline gift as usual. When selecting the payment method, select Bank withdrawal from the payment options. The modal window for processing the transaction will ask for bank account information.
Note: This enhancement applies only to additional gifts, not to registration fees.
Additionally, when administrators enter constituent offline transactions, the payments window will appear differently. While the workflow remains unchanged, the visual layout of the payments window has been updated. To process these transactions in Constituent360, select a participant, go to Transactions, choose a donation form, and select GO. Then, choose Credit Card. You will then see options for Credit card or digital wallet and Direct debit account. The modal window for processing the transaction will look different from previous versions.
