Engagement Elements (EEs)
Engagement Elements (EEs) are a way to add information, resources, and messages to your community. They can appear as widgets on your community home page, appear in your community navigation, or be accessed by direct link. EEs with Show On Home enabled will appear in a Featured section on the community home page and in the community navigation.
Admins can create and manage EEs from CSRconnect Admin Portal, Engagements, Manage Engagements.
Note: Engagement elements are segmentable
You can use EEs to:
-
Run a disaster relief campaign or another corporate campaign
-
Highlight impact stories through blogs, photos, and videos
-
Run a voting program, such as for grant awards or to recognize employee volunteers
-
Share program documentation, policy information, and other relevant resources
-
Redirect employees to another page inside or outside of the platform
-
Redirect - Link users to an external website or a page within your community.
-
Resource - Create a page to provide information.
-
Giving - Create a page for a giving program, with featured charities, donation types, and matching gifts programs.
-
Voting - Create an interactive poll to learn from employees and include them in your decision processes.
-
Engagement Elements (EEs) - Create an EE with a custom layout, personalized to your organization's needs. You can start with a template, drag and drop components, and apply themes (styles) to create content. This replaces the legacy method for creating custom EEs.
Note: The designer doesn't yet support Giving or Voting components. However, you can use designer to add a hyperlink or a button that links to a separate Giving or Voting EE .
Branching is when an engagement element on the home page serves as a single starting point from which other EEs are linked.
We recommend limiting the number of EEs that display on your home page to no more than 6-8. You can use branching for any additional EE pages you create.
For example:
-
A Resource EE titled "Gift Matching & Dollars for Doers Programs" appears on the home page.
-
When users click into this EE, they see a landing page with high-level information and links to two additional EE pages: "Gift Matching" and "Dollars for Doers Programs." These two EEs are hidden from the home page, but can be accessed through the original Resource EE.
Clients admins must have the Can Manage Engagement Elements permission to edit EEs from the CSRconnect Admin Portal. If you have admin users who need view only permission, you can give them only the Can View Engagement Elements permission. See Roles & permissions.
Note: If users will need to create EEs, we recommend you grant them both permissions.
Admins can create, edit, and manage EEs from CSRconnect Admin Portal, Engagements, Manage Engagements.
The Start Date and End Date for each EE determines whether users are able to view it. An Archived EE will not be visible to users and does not appear on the home page or in the navigation, regardless of its Start Date and End Date.
The Show On Home setting determines whether that EE appears on the home page and in the navigation. For EEs made with the EE Designer, this setting syncs with the Display on home and navigation menu setting from the EE's Details.
