Opportunities Analysis
With Prospect Research Management
Tip: To view the Opportunities dashboard in Fundraising, Reporting, select Add , Opportunities, Open.
For a quick snapshot of your overall opportunities, you can view how many efforts meet the filters under Opportunity overview. In addition to the Opportunities amount, you can view how much you requested, expected, and raised through those efforts. For information about these amounts, see Opportunity Funding.
For details about the opportunities, refer to the list under Opportunities. For each opportunity, you can view its constituent, status, purpose, and how much you expect to receive (and when). For additional details about an opportunity, select its name to open its record. For more information, see Opportunity Records.
Tip: To view and manage a list of the opportunities that meet the filter criteria, select the Opportunities amount.
To analyze the progress of the opportunities and quickly identify bottlenecks, you can view how many efforts are at each stage of your solicitation process under Opportunities by status. For more information, see Opportunity Status Analysis.
To analyze the focus of your fundraising efforts, you can quickly view how many opportunities apply toward each purpose — or intent of gifts received as a result the effort — under Opportunities by purpose. For more information, see Opportunity Purpose Analysis.
To help set expectations and determine whether to adjust ask amounts, you can quickly compare your asked, expected, and funded amounts for all active opportunities.

Projection accuracy — How well the opportunities' total funding amounts match each other.

Average difference — How the funding amounts differ, on average, for each opportunity.

Average time — How many days, on average, between funding amounts for each opportunity.
Tip: We recommend you base ask amounts on your research of prospects and how much you think they'll donate. You may ask for more or less than you expect, based on their wealth capacity or likelihood to donate.

With opportunities, you can track the efforts to cultivate a donor through your moves management process. To analyze how well your efforts help convert prospects into donors, you can view how many opportunities have constituents at each stage of your moves management process under Opportunities by prospect status. Under Opportunities by fundraiser, you can quickly compare how many opportunities each fundraiser manages. With this information, you can easily identify fundraisers juggling too many opportunities and ensure balanced assignments. Tip: By default, the metrics under Opportunities include all active opportunities. To include only efforts that meet specific criteria, such as by their funding dates or status, use the filters. For more information, see Opportunities Analysis Filters.
Tip: To view a list of records included in the number-crunching, select the total or metric. For further analysis, select Create list to open the list in Lists, where you can apply additional filters, choose columns, and save for future reuse. For more information, see Lists.
For deeper analysis of a fund, select its name to open its record. For more information, see Fund Records.

To easily apply frequently-used filters to the dashboard, select the filter criteria and then save their view for your personal reuse. For more information, see Saved Views of Dashboards.

To review the dashboard offline, download it as a PDF, or automatically receive a PDF as an email on a regular basis. For more information, see PDFs or Spreadsheets of Dashboards.
Note: It may take up to three hours for these metrics to update based on new or edited information. If no one at your organization has used the reports in over a month, the initial data refresh might take up to 24 hours.
