Accessing the Application
After you run a successful installation of Infinity, you will want to access the application. For information about how to access the application, see Accessing the Application. Also, there is help included with the application and a set of user guides you can download at How-to Documentation.
Version
When you contact Blackbaud about your installation or when you upgrade, it is useful to know the version or patch of the installation. For steps about how to determine the version or patch, see Determine the Version or Patch.
Configuration Manager
Upon completion of the installation wizard, the Blackbaud AppFx Configuration Manager appears. For information about the Blackbaud AppFx Configuration Manager and the tasks you can perform with it, see Post-installation Tasks.
To access the Configuration Manager, go to the C:\bbappfx\MSBuild\ folder, where C:\bbappfx\ is your installation directory, and double-click the bbAppFx.Config.exe file. You can also access the Configuration Manager from the installation summary screen of the installation wizard.
Utilities
The program includes several administrative utilities that you can access after you install the program. These utilities are built on the same ClickOnce technology as the Smart Client software, and you can use them to monitor your Application Server’s web and SQL servers, initialize new databases, configure your Report Server, and enable the AddressAccelerator and Postal Saver functionality.
For information about administrative utilities, see Administrative Utilities.
Reports
The installation process does not fully handle configuring the report server for Infinity reports. Configuring the report server requires you to run the ConfigureReportServer task from the Blackbaud AppFx Configuration Manager. For more information about the parameter for the ConfigureReportServer task, see ConfigureReportServer. After the report server is configured, you must load the reports through the application. For instructions for how to load reports from an Infinity application, see Load Reports.
For how-to documentation about reports in Blackbaud CRM, see Reports Guide.
Multicurrency or Single Currency
Whether your installation supports multicurrency is a decision to make early in your configuration process. For more information about Multicurrency, see the Multicurrency Guide.
If your organization processes transactions in a single currency, verify that the program uses the correct currency setting before you enter gifts. If your organization receives revenue in a single currency only, verify your organization’s default currency setting. If your organization receives revenue in multiple currencies, you must configure your database to convert and manage currency information. See Update Currency Settings for information about the default organization setting and to enable the Multicurrency feature.
Note: When you enable and configure Multicurrency, it disables some Blackbaud Internet Solutions parts, including the Scrolling Donor Display, Fundraiser, Fundraiser Dashboard, Fundraiser Page Element, Fundraiser Report, and Transaction Manager parts. If you use any of these parts on your website, you should remove them before you enable and configure Multicurrency.
