Applications are typically created by the applicant in the Applicant Portal. However, Grant Managers and Reviewers can create them in the Grant Manager Portal as well. This allows you to upload historical applications or even submit new applications on behalf of an individual or organization.
-
Create and configure the application.
Note: When initially creating the application, you have the option to save it as a Draft to return to later or send it directly to the applicant to complete and submit.
-
Complete and submit the application on behalf of the applicant.
Tip: If you do not want to complete and submit the application yourself, you can send it to the applicant instead. Learn more.
Depending on the requirements of the program's workflow, applications may need to be routed to specific workflow levels in order to perform certain actions like requesting revisions, providing decisions, etc. There are several ways you can route an application from one level to another, including:
Tip: Programs can also be configured to automatically route applications based on Grant Manager decisions. Learn more.
You can take action on applications once they have been reviewed and are in an appropriate workflow level that allow such as actions. This includes Approve and Decline, which indicate whether an applicant will receive funding as part of the grant program.
Tip: In addition, applications can be canceled if no longer needed (i.e., it is a duplicate, the applicant no longer wants to apply for funding).
Note: For more information, see the Action Applications resources.
The application status automatically updates in certain circumstances. For example, the status is changed to On hold if a Revision Request is sent to the applicant. You also have the option to manually update the status if needed.
Note: For more information, see the Update Application Status resource.
Application activity and communications are automatically tracked and stored in the Application View. There are multiple ways to access this information, including:
Applications and their attachments can be downloaded from GrantsConnect either individually or in bulk. This may be helpful if you need to send them to decision-makers or even store them outside of the platform.
Note: When downloading applications individually, you have the option to include award and payment details, emails, and Activity Trails.
Tip: If you only want to download a form rather than the application as a whole, see the Download Forms resource.
